Coffee drive through dropped in new plan

Gloucestershire Echo - - NEWS -

THERE is a fresh bid to bring a major development of a supermarket, nursery and office buildings to the edge of Cheltenham - but a coffee drive-through idea has been dropped.

Proposals to build a new Aldi, Costa Coffee and child nursery off Grovefield Way, near the Arle Court Roundabout, proved controversial and were rejected last year.

A new, revised application has been submitted to the borough council that claims to have a more ‘generous landscaping scheme’ at the location and which has dropped the drivethrough.

Hinton Properties (Grovefield Way) Ltd says there will be less car parking, less hard-standing and a diverse mixed-use site.

The application will be discussed by planners on Thursday, October 18.
