Cirencester contingent battle through to finish marathon test
THERE were some fine Cirencester AC performances at the Chester Marathon.
Caroline Buck ran with a broken toe, Lisa Stevens with a recent wedding behind her and Martin Croucher needing to qualify for his umpteenth Comrades Marathon.
Liza Darroch, despite stomach cramps, won a National gold medal/ CAC age group record and Rupert Chesmore battled a groin strain to set a CAC age group record.

In the Bournemouth Marathon, Rachel Barrow just missed her fivehour target (5:05.31) whilst Paul Barrow (6:32.10) was delighted to finish what might be his last marathon.
Simon Campbell was eighth in 1:22.57 in the Cricklade half marathon with Neil Corbiere 11th in 1:24.33 while Lee Lawrence set a very good time of 1:32.08 to finish 32nd.
Rachel Jones, in her first half, did 2:13.43, then same time Karen Carter and club chairman Pam Wheeler while Rebecca Collier and Lesley Hinsley ran 1.57.04.
Dave Bell won the Cricklade 10k in 32.24 whilst Sophie Chudley made it a Ciren double as first lady home and first FV35 in 39.37.
David Wright is also having a wonderful season and he came in seventh in 38.24 and was first V60 with Caroline Cotterell finishing fourth lady in 44.27. Tom Renton-rose finished the Oxford half Marathon in 1.42.53 and Penny Grayson clocked 2.35.06.
Parkrun highlights were a second lady finish for Corinne Clark and a third for Caroline Cotterell.

Swindon: 16 Corinne Clark 20.34, 183 Barbara Thomas 27.34.
Chippenham: 18 Ollie Campbell (J) 21.54.
