Reed stay­ing close to home for se­nior bow

ENG­LAND Un­der-21 pair Paige Reed and Hal­i­mat Adio have signed for Sev­ern Stars ahead of their third Vi­tal­ity Net­ball Su­per­league cam­paign.

Reed, from Glouces­ter, was scouted when she was 13 and played for Team Bath be­fore rep­re­sent­ing Eng­land Un­der-21s against Aus­tralia.

The 21-year-old goal at­tack said: “I am ner­vous and ex­cited about play­ing for the Sev­ern Stars.

“I’m look­ing for­ward to get­ting back on the court and play­ing with a new com­bi­na­tion of team mates.

“I want to be­come a con­sis­tent shooter and as­set to the Stars and hope I can bring a fun style of play to the team.”

Adio, 20, has al­ready played two sea­sons in Su­per­league with Mav­er­icks and Wasps.

She said: “I’m ex­cited to see ev­ery­one, I know Sam Bird (head coach) is a re­ally good coach and I believe this squad will help me de­velop.

“When I do get match play I just bang it out and act like ev­ery match is my last.”

The pair join Jodie Gib­son, Iona Dar­roch, Lucy Har­ris, Maryka Holtzhause­n, Sam Cook, Cara Lea Mose­ley, Ge­or­gia Rowe and Jodi-ann Ward in the Sev­ern Stars squad.
