SHURDINGTON

Our Cub Scouts had an evening swatting for their science badge. They had separate sessions thanks to parents who stayed to help. Mixing oil and coloured water, making small rockets with bicarb and vinegar, and lighting tiny bulbs with lemons as batteries. Very interesting and worth watching.

Beavers spent the evening working for their cooking badge. They made pizza, an this was their second dish.

Their third dish needs to be made at home and a picture brought to their meeting next time they meet.

Sadly our Scout Troop has gone into a rest period where only one Scout is turning up. Looks like we will have to wait till the New Year when perhaps some Cubs reaching ten years of age will venture to the Scout troop. Shame as the Troop, which is boys and girls 10+, have a great experience. However they all eventually reach 14 and move up to Explorers in Cheltenham. Looking forward to the future.

The next Flu jabs for patients of Leckhampton Surgery are in Century Hall afternoon today Thursday, October 25.

There is one session at the surgery itself, and the last one in the Century Hall is on Thursday, November 8, from 1pm till 4pm. There will not be any Tai Chi that day.

This year’s Midlands Hamster Club meeting will be in the Century Hall on Saturday, October 27, morning and afternoon. Guests will be most welcome.

The next Seniors Drop In coffee morning is on Tuesday, November 6, in the Link Room. Hope to see the usual residents and more.

Several other events are going on in the halls this weekend, from fund raising to parties.
