Building society redesigning the way it works with customers

-

» COVENTRY Building Society has reopened its Gloucester branch with a whole new look designed to meet the needs of its members.

Employees and customers were joined at the opening by representatives from community partner The James Hopkins Trust, which has received almost £8,000 from the branch since 2011.

The Westgate Street branch is one of the first to be opened in the society’s new design which has seen the removal of glass security screens, allowing for greater interaction between employees and members.

Branch manager Charlie Barnard said: “Whileother banks and building societies are closing branches at an alarming rate, we’re investing heavily in our network over the next five years.

“We’re delighted with the new branch which will ensure we continue to meet the needs of our members and the local Gloucester community.

“Our focus for the branch will continue to be people, with technology there to help provide the human touch, not replace it.

“Branches matter to savers, and we want to encourage more people to save more for their futures by continuing to offer good value over the long term.”

Sarah James, head of fundraising at James Hopkins Trust, said: “We’re really grateful for the fantastic support given to us by the team at Gloucester.

“The new-look design feels very friendly and relaxed.

“We love the new community area, which will be great for helping us raise awareness of the important work we do.”

The branch has been designed in partnership with design specialists Allen International.
