Raglan hopes to take opportunity during loan spell
CHARLIE Raglan says his loan move to Cheltenham is an opportunity to put himself in the shop window.
Centre-half Raglan has moved from Oxford for the rest of the season and made a good debut in Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Carlisle.
His contract at the Kassam Stadium is up at the end of the season, and he said: “I think if I am honest that’s it now for Oxford and I had two-and-a-half years there, but didn’t play anywhere near as many games as I wanted.
“I am sad to leave, but that’s probably it now. My contract is up in the summer so I look towards the future.
“I see this as an opportunity to play a few more games, but that’s down to me.
“The interest initially came and I spoke to the manager and having spoken to him, I wanted to pursue it and make sure I came to the club.
Raglan knew Cheltenham were interested before he played against the Robins in their Check a trade Trophy clash recently, and said: “I pursued it after that because I was keen to come. Oxford is a great club and I am sad to leave, but when you are not playing, you need to move on.
“When you have the opportunity to come to a club and a manager who made me feel wanted, I really wanted to come.,
He is also looking forward to working with Duff, a manager who has played at the top level in his position
“I am someone who wants to improve, wherever I play,” said Raglan.
“He will pick up on the small details and won’t hesitate to tell me.
“You can’t help but respect a manager who has played at the top level in your position.”
