LAST year was a highly successful one for the Cirenceste­r College apprentice­ship team, with an increase of more than 50 per cent in apprentice­s across a variety of programmes.

Sarah Helbrown, the college’s apprentice­ship manager, said: “The growth in our apprentice­ship programmes is testament to our local employers who continue to see the benefits of bringing apprentice­ships in to their business.

“There has also been a growth in the number of companies using the Apprentice­ship Levy to recruit new apprentice­s.

There will be presentati­ons at 6.15pm and 7.15pm with the opportunit­y to speak to one of the team.

“Equally, apprentice­ships provide a fantastic opportunit­y for young people to start a career and develop valuable workplace skills and knowledge.

“Our outcomes continue to be exceptiona­lly positive for both employers and apprentice­s, with more than 90 per cent of our completing apprentice­s last year remaining with the same employer after they had finished their apprentice­ship”.

One accounting apprentice­s was employed by The Bathurst Estate who were impressed by the college.

Joanne Marshall from the estate said: “They care about their apprentice­s, ensuring they are given every opportunit­y to fulfil their absolute potential and beyond.

“The team are the ultimate profession­als but amazingly personable and a delight to work with.”

The college delivers apprentice­ships in nine key business sectors across three different levels, including apprentice­ships in accountanc­y, business and

administra­tion, customer service, creative and digital media, IT applicatio­n specialist, marketing, supervisio­n and management, supporting teaching and learning in schools and financial services.

Programmes are designed to offer benefits for both employers when recruiting apprentice­s in to their business and to apprentice­s who have both choice and progressio­n opportunit­ies within the training at the college.
