AHEALTHCARE facility has opened to patients ahead of being officially launched in February.

The Cleevelands Medical Centre, located in the heart of a Bishop’s Cleeve estate, will bring together two practices.

Patients at Seven Posts Surgery in Prestbury and Greyholme Surgery in Church Road now have access to the new facilities and the centre has space to expand as their local community continues to grow in size.

Although the centre is open for patients, an opening event will take place on Thursdaym February 7.

A spokeswoman for NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group Claire Mcbride said: “The new building is modern, spacious, light and airy, with around 1,100 square metres of space and 48 parking spaces.

“It has 14 clinical rooms, including consulting and nurse treatment rooms, as well as a suite for minor operations and an onsite pharmacy.”

GP at Seven Posts and Greyholme Surgeries, Dr Diane Marson, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome our patients to their wonderful new surgery.

“We have put a lot of thought into creating an attractive, environmentally sustainable building and very much hope that both patients and staff will appreciate and benefit from this.

“Our new surgery will enable us to offer first-rate care to our patients and ensure that we can continue to provide high quality services for years to come.”

The local population has expanded significantly over recent years; the two surgeries provide care to over 10,300 patients.

As further housing is planned for the area, the centre will be equipped to deal with the potential increase in the number of patients over the coming years. Director of Primary Care at NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, Helen Goodey, said: “This is a really positive development for the area and its growing population.

“The new centre means that patients can benefit from facilities in future that are fit for modern healthcare and support the provision of high quality care.” phillip.thompson@reachplc.com
