Hartpury are facing an uphill battle

-

I AM afraid Hartpury will now need a massive upturn in fortunes to sustain a place in the Championship next season. It is of course not yet done, knowing Mark Cornwell and his coaching staff they will continue to work hard preparing their team to ensure they have a chance to get off the bottom of the pile.

After a sticky patch Cinderford has come back bang into form with their latest success against Esher, and with this success they have virtually guaranteed they will be in National One again next season.

Drybrook gave their survival hopes a big boost beating the Old Patesians on their own patch.

This week Pats announced that Craig ‘Bunner’ Jones will be stepping down at the end of the season after six years in charge of the Cheltenham club.

He should be proud what he has achieved, even though the club face relegation this season. Happy shopping my friend.

Cirencester had a great game against a Brockworth side that has seen a remarkable turnaround in fortunes.

When we played the Badgers in the early season months they look disjointed and very unlike a Brockworth side I have seen in the past, which saw them bottom of the table.

After some soul searching and honest conversations, this club seems to have its mojo back, with increased training numbers and an emerging second team; most encouraging were their three wins on the bounce before us including Cheltenham North who sit second in the league.

They pushed my lads all the way in a fiercely contested game; in the end it was one that we were glad to win.

It shows what hard work with a good attitude can achieve; long may it continue.
