Charlton Kings Mens’ Probus Club meets at 9.30am today in Sacred Hearts Church Rooms when Howard Beard will entertain members with a nostalgic slide show illustrati­ng the lives of people who lived in the Stroud Valleys in Victorian times.

Emmanuel Kitchen Community Cafe will be open tomorrow from 11.45am-1.30pm serving light lunches and hot puddings.

This is an ideal way to meet and chat to others in your community.

There are no fixed prices for the lunch but donations are much appreciate­d.

Monthly coffee mornings are being held at Sue Ryder Leckhampto­n Court Hospice, organised by volunteers in the Sue Ryder Leckhampto­n Court Fundraisin­g Group to raise vital funds the hospice’s expert and compassion­ate palliative and bereavemen­t care.

The mornings are also an opportunit­y to find out more about the care and services available at the hospice while making use its wonderful day hospice building.

The next coffee morning is being held from 10.30am on Saturday.

Everyone is welcome. The coffee mornings will be held on the first Saturday of each month.

The parish council planning committee meets at 7.30pm on Monday in the Stanton Room.

Lewis Lawton will be giving a talk entitled Flying the Phantom Fighter – At The Heart of the Cold War.

Ulrich Heinen will be playing his cello with pianist John Humphreys to perform music by Bach, Debussy and Prokief at the lunchtime concert in the Town Hall at 1.05pm on Tuesday, February 5. Lunches will be on sale from midday.

Trinity Ladies Probus Club meets from 10am on Wednesday, February 6 at St Mary’s Parish Centre.

Carol Day will give a talk about The History of the Everyman Theatre.

David Howe’s talk entitled Unaccustom­ised As I Am will discuss the pleasures and pitfalls of public speaking.

Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra is giving a concert in the Pump Room at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 9.
