Man jailed for 48 weeks after breaking order
A MAN has been jailed after “persistent” begging, injecting drugs in view of the public and shoplifting.
Nathan Malborn, of Vittoria Walk, was handed a 48-week jail term at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 25.
The 25-year-old breached a Criminal Behaviour Order when he committed his offences. A change to the CBO means he is now banned from entering parts of the town centre.
The application was made by Solace, an agency which fights antisocial behaviour.
Solace team leader Louise Boyle said: “The support that was offered to Malborn includedfinding him accommodation which he refused to take without reason, seeking help with his lifestyle choices and providing ongoing support to address his addiction to class A drugs, all of which he refused to engage with.
“We are committed to reducing antisocial behaviour in Cheltenham and Gloucester through both support and enforcement action where needed.”
Solace includes officers from Gloucestershire police, Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucester City Council.
