Children’s charity will get extra support after estate agents’ move

» CHILDREN’S bereavemen­t charity, Winston’s Wish has been chosen as the charity partner for 2019 by the Cheltenham team of estate agents Perry Bishop and Chambers.

“We are thrilled to be supporting this incredible charity whose inspiratio­nal work with bereaved children is absolutely vital,” said the company’s office manager, Jackie Carlton.

As well as pledging to participat­e in various fundraisin­g events organised by the charity, the estate agents will also be hosting its own events throughout the year including a charity Golfing Day and a company quiz.

Winston’s Wish which has its headquarte­rs in Cheltenham, will also benefit from a donation from every house sold by the estate agents which has been operating in Gloucester­shire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshir­e for 20 years.

More than 5,000 calls were made last year to the national helpline for Winston’s Wish which offers bereavemen­t counsellin­g to young people and their families after the death of a parent or sibling and 1,719 were supported face to face.

The charity depends almost entirely on voluntary donations and needs to raise over £2.5million annually.

Sue Ryder Leckhampto­n Court Hospice will continue to benefit from donations from house sales by Perry Bishop in Leckhampto­n and Charlton Kings.
