AGLOUCESTERSHIRE-BASED company which has transported motorbikes around the world for celebrity clients has opened a new warehouse in the county to make the most of Brexit.

Over the past decade WMB Logistics has moved bikes for movie stars, museums and top riders such as Carl Fogarty.

Now it has signed a distribution deal with Harley Davidson and opened a new 34,000 square feet warehouse in the county that will allow the company to take advantage of an increase in storage requests ahead of Brexit.

Directors Paul Lusty and Tony Davis founded WMB in 2007 when they designed their own unique cradling system for safely and securely carrying bikes around he world.

Eleven years later the business has developed into a complete logistics and transport company, working from its base in Gloucester, with well-known clients around the world.

As experts in their field they have ridden Harley-davidsons with pop group The Saturdays and transported a collection of rare Norton motorcycles for the National Motorcycle Museum.

This week they announced that they’ve expanded the business and have secured a new 34,000 square feet warehouse within Gloucestershire.

As well as dealing with growing storage requests ahead of Brexit, the new warehouse will allow the motorcycle division to grow independently of the pallet business.

Other clients include, Ducati, KTM, BMW, Suzuki, Royal Enfield, The National Motorcycle Museum and the Ducati Museum (Bologna).

The new partnership with Harleydavidson UK will see WMB Logistics manage the distribution of motorcycles to all Harley-davidson dealerships throughout the UK. The two companies have been working together for the past 12 years already, transporting motorcycles around the UK and Europe, delivering them to dealerships and events.

The firm also works on “Truck Tour” that sees the company visiting countries as far afield as Turkey, Russia and much of Eastern Europe, in a promotional tour of dealerships.

A senior spokesman for WMB Logistics said:””it’s an exciting time all round for WMB Group, having also just announced the acquisition of a second 34,000 square foot warehouse within Gloucestershire, increasing the size of the team and increasing the fleet size with the addition of new Scania trucks, new trailers and truck mounted forklifts. Harley-davidson have been a client for over a decade now and being awarded the distribution contract is another large piece of the jigsaw that sees the relationship between the companies strengthened.”

WMB Group is made up of WMB Logistics, WMB Palletised, WMB Chilled and WMB Events. janet.hughes@reachplc.com
