Shops – shut your doors to help planet

Gloucestershire Echo - - NEWS -

✒ AS a nation we are, finally, becoming more aware of our impact on the environment.

So why do so many of the shops in the town centre insist on having their doors wide open, despite signs on them saying “We are keeping our doors shut to help the environment”?

In a short visit at the weekend I saw H&M, Hobbs, The White Company, Waterstones and Hotter, all with doors wide open despite the cold.

Surely automated doors or those with buttons for disabled access are easy to install?

Please, shopowners, think about not only your power bills and the devastating effect you are having on our planet. E Clark Cheltenham
