DEAN Close School sponsored the inaugural Mayor’s Concert of Youth.

The concert was held in Cheltenham Town Hal to showcase Gloucestershire’s young talent and raised money for the Mayor’s charities - the Pied Piper Appeal and Cheltenham Animal Shelter. Housemistress Julie Kent introduced the concert starring Cheltenham Youth Choir, Gloucestershire Academy of Music and musicians from Dean Close School.

The Mayor, councillor Bernard Fisher, thanked all the young musicians for their outstanding performances and the audience for supporting his elected charities.

The evening was drawn to a close by the Carducci Quartet.

The strings group played Four for Tango, replicating the sounds of feet sliding across a dance floor with their instruments.
