Addai could be out for the rest of the season
CHELTENHAM Town forward Alex Addai is likely to miss the rest of his first season in the Football League due to a hamstring injury.
The 25-year-old underwent a scan on Friday after suffering the problem during the first half of the 1-0 home win over Yeovil Town three days earlier.
He has been told it will take him around 12 weeks to recover, meaning he may miss the Robins’ remaining 15 matches.
Addai, who started his career in the academy at Tottenham Hotspur before a spell with Blackpool, joined Cheltenham on a one year deal following a trial at the end of last season.
He had caught the eye of former Robins head of recruitment Pete Johnson while playing for Isthmian League Division One South club Merstham.
Addai has scored two FA Cup goals and one in the Check a trade Trophy this term, enjoying a fine run of form in the run up to Christmas following a lengthy spell out of the side.
