Ad­dai could be out for the rest of the sea­son

CHEL­TENHAM Town for­ward Alex Ad­dai is likely to miss the rest of his first sea­son in the Foot­ball League due to a ham­string in­jury.

The 25-year-old un­der­went a scan on Fri­day af­ter suf­fer­ing the prob­lem dur­ing the first half of the 1-0 home win over Yeovil Town three days ear­lier.

He has been told it will take him around 12 weeks to re­cover, mean­ing he may miss the Robins’ re­main­ing 15 matches.

Ad­dai, who started his ca­reer in the academy at Tot­ten­ham Hot­spur be­fore a spell with Black­pool, joined Chel­tenham on a one year deal fol­low­ing a trial at the end of last sea­son.

He had caught the eye of for­mer Robins head of re­cruit­ment Pete John­son while play­ing for Isth­mian League Di­vi­sion One South club Mer­stham.

Ad­dai has scored two FA Cup goals and one in the Check a trade Tro­phy this term, en­joy­ing a fine run of form in the run up to Christ­mas fol­low­ing a lengthy spell out of the side.
