Family-friendly picnic is first Pride event for years
PRIDE in Gloucestershire have announced a family-friendly picnic in Pittville park; ‘the first Pride event in Cheltenham in almost a decade.’
The event will take place on Sunday, May 12, and will feature a number of food and drink stalls, live performances and a dog show.
Pride in Gloucestershire chairman Jason Peachey said: “This is huge for Cheltenham, it will be a family orientated day open to all ages.”
The event, which was unveiled on the Pride in Gloucestershire Facebook page, has the support of Cheltenham Borough Council and Cheltenham Borough Homes.

“With the backdrop of the historic pump room, this family-friendly afternoon on May 12 will have something for everyone.
“Pride in Gloucestershire have worked closely with Cheltenham Borough Council and Cheltenham Borough Homes to get this event going.
“Both the council and Pride are excited to be able to offer the LGBT+ community a safe space to celebrate and reflect.
“2018 was the first year that the current organisers hosted the Pride day festivities in Gloucester, and following on from its success, this year’s events across Cheltenham and Gloucester are set to be even bigger and better.
