Extra spaces to help during school hours
» TEWKESBURY Borough Council is creating additional parking bays to ease congestion and help make the Winchcombe Abbey school-run safer for families.
The council currently allows drivers with school parking permits to use Back Lane car park - next to Winchcombe Abbey Primary School at pick-up and drop-off times.
However, members of the community have become concerned about the number of cars using thr car park and the lack of spaces.
Following discussions with the school and the local community, council officers identified areas of the car park that could be re-aligned to accommodate 11 more spaces.
Councillor Ron Furolo, lead member for finance and asset management, said: “It’s been a pleasure to be able to help resolve this issue for the school community.”
