Polson cracks top six to mark anniversar­y in fitting style

MATT Polson marked the sixth anniversar­y of Cheltenham Parkrun with sixth in 18.52.

He was followed home by other Almost Athletes Martin Foster in eighth with 19.21 and Matthew Hickman, 13th in 20.02. First timer Tim Brock finished in 31.18.

Danny Carroll was eighth in Wotton in 22.38 while Helena Youde won her age category and was third lady overall at the East Coast Park Parkrun in Singapore and Gerard Gatek ran in Tychy, Poland.

Emma Yates completed the Seville Marathon in 3.39 while while Glenda and Ian Duncan Gill ran the Verona Half in 2.09 and 2.20 respective­ly.

Ian Coggin completed the 28mile Winter Railway Ultra from Ironbridge to Bridgnorth in 4.19 and ran the Pittville cross-country event the next day.

Allan Green notched up another marathon at Nottingham’s National Water Park event in 5.09 while Catherine and Mike Daly ran the Bramley 20 miles with a finish time of 2:55.

Karla Cleverley completed the Milton Keynes Winter Warmer 10km in 1.26mins and Martyn Fisher was first Almost home at the Welly Trail Half Marathon in Castle Ashby.

There were personal bests at the Castle Combe Chilly 10km race for Marty Ward, Dave Nelson and Rob Rennell.

Wan Hartley also had a terrific finish time of 57.09.

At the Castle Combe Duathlon, Paul Turner finished in 1.06 while Nicole Hope came home in 1.13.

At the Pittville cross-country event, Josh Hand was first Almost to cross the line in 37.51, followed by Martin Foster in 38.40 and Shaun Carr 9.44.

In the ladies event, Patricia Peever clocked 29.01, followed by Sophie Longley in 31.35 and Hester Coggin 31.36.

Julianne Jameson finished the multiple lap Slothful Marathon in 4.41.
