» YOUNG peo­ple in Glouces­ter­shire aged 11-18 are urged to vote for their next Mem­bers of Youth Par­lia­ment be­fore Sat­ur­day, March 2.

UK Youth Par­lia­ment is run by young peo­ple for young peo­ple. Ev­ery 11 – 18 year old, can vote in the UKYP Elec­tions in the area where they live or go to school.

There are 15 can­di­dates for Glouces­ter­shire. There will be one Mem­ber of Youth Par­lia­ment elected to rep­re­sent young peo­ple’s views for Chel­tenham/tewkes­bury, Glouces­ter/ For­est Dean and Cotswolds/stroud.

MYPS stand for two years or un­til their 19th birth­day, if this comes first.

Read the ad­dress of each of the 15 can­di­dates then text UKYP + can­di­date name to 60075 to vote.

The re­sults will an­nounced on­line on Mon­day, March 4.

MYPS get to meet MPS, run lo­cal and na­tional cam­paigns as well as hav­ing the op­por­tu­nity to de­bate within the House of Com­mons on a range of is­sues that af­fect young peo­ple in Bri­tain.

Youth Par­lia­ment elec­tions in Glouces­ter­shire are co­or­di­nated by the Youth Sup­port Team which is pro­vided by Prospects, the em­ploy­ment, ed­u­ca­tion and care com­pany, on be­half of the county coun­cil.
