Lisowski passes his first test in In­dian chal­lenge

» JACK Lisowski will face Joe Swail in the last 64 of the In­dian Open in Kochi af­ter a 4-0 suc­cess over lo­cal wild­card player Hi­man­shu Di­nesh Jain.

The Church­down man opened with a break of 59 then won the next be­fore he came through a tight third frame and fin­ished with a break of 94.

He faces Swail tonight as he looks for a good run in the event ahead of next week’s Coral Play­ers Cham­pi­onship at the Pre­ston Guild­hall.

Lisowski has qual­i­fied as a mem­ber of the top 16 on the one-year rank­ing list and faces Kyren Wil­son in the open­ing round on Tues­day night.

He needs a good run in Kochi and also in Pre­ston with a place in the Tour Cham­pi­onship, for the world’s top eight play­ers, up for grabs.

Lisowski sits 10th on the list, £34,000 be­hind eighth-placed David Gil­bert.
