Polledri and Braley handed Italy call-ups
GLOUCESTER pair Jake Polledri and Callum Braley have been named in Italy’s squad for the final two games of the Six Nations.
They will join up with the squad on Sunday, March 3 to prepare for the games against England at Twickenham and France in Rome.
It means they could miss Gloucester’s game away to play-off rivals Harlequins on Sunday, March 10.
Flanker Polledri missed the first three games of the competition due to an ankle injury but he returned to action for the Cherry and Whites in Friday night’s win over Saracens when he came on as a replacement.
Scrum-half Braley earned his first call-up to the Italy squad ahead of their last fixture against Ireland when it emerged he qualified through his grandfather but he was released back to Gloucester before the game.
Former Hartpury flanker Seb Negri is also in the squad.
Italy head coach Conor O’shea said: “We have convened 35 players to have a wide range of choice for the last two games of the Six Nations.
“For the match against England we have 26 players, while in Rome for the match against France we will have 31. “
