Thomasen double sets up Bourton’s victory
BOURTON Rovers Reserves won 4-2 at Chadlington in the Witney and District League Division One
Ben Mcphilimey volleyed Rovers ahead with a sublime finish but after the break Chadlington hauled themselves level with a free header finding the back of the net.
Mitch Thomasen restored the Bourton lead before Lee Mosson was fouled in the penalty area but Mcphilimey’s penalty was superbly saved by the Chadlington keeper
Two minutes later Thomasen put Rovers 3-1 up before Chadlington pulled a goal back.
Mosson put the game to bed when he was found by midfielder Joe Boote with a superb pass and caressed the ball past the om rushing keeper
The first team could only manage a point at home against Shrivenham Development in the Hellenic League Division Two West and are 15 points off the top with five games in hand over Moreton Rangers and Wantage Town.
Josh Fielding scored the Rovers goal in the 58th minute but Shrivenham equalised with 10 minutes remaining.
Rovers face a tricky trip to Sharpness in the semi final of the Gloucestershire Northern Amateur Cup (North) this Saturday.
