Sex­ual as­sault on teen: Po­lice ap­peal for help

» PO­LICE are appealing for help from the pub­lic as they con­tinue to in­ves­ti­gate a se­ri­ous sex­ual as­sault on a teenager.

The al­leged at­tack, which saw part of Chel­tenham town cen­tre cor­doned off for around nine hours, hap­pened in the early hours of Satur­day, April 27. The vic­tim was an 18-year-old man. Glouces­ter­shire Con­stab­u­lary re­ceived a call at around 5.30am on Satur­day morn­ing.

A num­ber of po­lice ve­hi­cles were at the scene around Cam­bray Place and Rodney Road.

A cor­don was put up for foren­sic ex­am­i­na­tion to take place.

The force un­der­stand the teenage vic­tim was walk­ing to­wards the Moon Un­der the Wa­ter pub when the at­tack took place.

Their ded­i­cat­edRa­pe­and Se­ri­ous Sex­ual Of­fences team are deal­ing with the in­ci­dent.

A po­lice spokes­woman said that of­fi­cers left the scene at ap­prox­i­mately 2.30pm and the cor­don was re­moved.

No ar­rests have been made as of yet.

Po­lice are re­new­ing their ap­peal for anyone who saw or heard any­thing in the area at the time, that may help with their en­quiries.

They are asked to call 101 quot­ing in­ci­dent num­ber 97 of April 27.
