THE Cheltenham Trust has a new chief executive.

Laurie Bell started this week, leading the town’s cultural and leisure portfolio that includes The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, Cheltenham Town Hall and Pittville Pump Room and the Prince of Wales Stadium.

Laurie, who lives near Cirencester, has joined from a senior leadership role at Wiltshire Council.

Laurie says: “I am confident that the trust will go from strength to strength. I am extremely impressed by the energy and commitment of staff, trustees and volunteers and the positive focus on delivering outcomes and maximising the opportunities to add value for the residents, businesses and visitors to Cheltenham.”

Chairman of the Board of trustees Peter Harkness, said: Her knowledge and skills are exactly what we have been looking for to support the next phase of the trust’s development and to continue to build on our positive partnership with Cheltenham Borough Council.”
