Harrison takes a bril­liant third at Strat­ford

THE Shake­speare Marathon and Half Marathon in Strat­ford saw NCTR’S Claire Harrison, achieve 3:20:57 in the marathon, plac­ing third lady.

Tom Wil­liams ran a half marathon PB of 1:29:51 and his wife Laura clocked 1:50:44, also a PB.

Kelly Read and Ann Hil­lary took on the High­land Fling, a 53 mile ul­tra­ma­rathon around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs Na­tional Park, fin­ish­ing in 62nd & 63rd over­all in 12 hours 22 min­utes.

NCTR had sev­eral rep­re­sen­ta­tives at the Lon­don Marathon, led home by Chris Krzy­wiec in 2:55:51, fol­lowed by Kate Krzy­wiec in her first marathon 3:18:56.

Mike Hobbs and Mike Kelly fin­ished in 3:23:32 and 3:36:56 re­spec­tively, while James Dunn, two weeks after com­plet­ing the Marathon Des Sables earned a PB of 4:14:28. Steve Ed­wards raced his 24th Lon­don Marathon and 866th marathon in to­tal in 3:25:07.

At the ITU World Duathlon Cham­pi­onships in Pon­teve­dra, Marie Brush earned bronze in the Sprint dis­tance age group 40-44, in 1:09:19.

Hus­band Phil com­peted in the stan­dard dis­tance age group 35-40 achiev­ing 14th in 2:06:51 while Seanin Gil­more rep­re­sented Ire­land in the stan­dard dis­tance age group 44-45 and came fourth in 2:26.

Terry Cassidy com­peted in the Southam Triathlon Sprint dis­tance and was sec­ond for his age cat­e­gory in 1:12:57. His son Thomas was third in Tris­tar1.
