Smith hits winner to take Bath into play-off
TOM Smith scored for the second time in a week to help Bath City record a morale boosting win ahead of the National League South play-offs this week.
The midfielder found the back of the net with a free kick to help Jerry Gill’s team finish fifth in the division and means that Bath took on Wealdstone in a play-off eliminator on Wednesday evening at Twerton Park.
Manny Duku played the full 90 minutes for FC Halifax Town as they won 2-0 at play-off finishers AFC Fylde on the final day of the National League season.
Josh Debayo was an unused substitute as his Dover Athletic team beat Sutton United 3-0 on the final day, and Liam Mcalinden featured for the whole game as Kidderminster Harriers ended their National League North campaign with a 2-1 home loss to Guiseley.
There was only one member of the club’s under-18s set-up who was in loan action elsewhere.
Archie Brennan featured for one last time at Slimbridge as they brought their Evo-stik Southern League Division One South season to a close with a good 1-0 away win over Thatcham Town.
