University falls 11 spots despite higher score
» THE University of Gloucestershire has dropped 11 places in the latest iteration of the Complete University Guide’s University League Table for 2020.
The university has been ranked 99 out of 131 in the research-weighted rankings.
It is ranked 10 out of 12 for universities in the South West with Bath, Exeter and Bristol making the top three.
It is the University of Gloucestershire’s lowest position to date in the rankings. Their highest was 58 back in 2009.
Despite the rankings, the University of Gloucestershire scored three percentage points ahead of the Higher Education average of 83 per cent, the university’s best result for at least a decade.
The Complete University Guide said: “It has achieved something it didn’t manage last year by appearing in the top 10 for the Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation and Tourism League Table.”
A spokesman for the university said: “We would encourage applicants not to rely only on league tables, but to visit us so that they can meet staff and students and get a more rounded picture of the type of university we are and the quality and range of experience we provide for our students.”
