Pump up the volume of cyclists as festival rides back into town
DIG out your best lycra, pump up your tyres and get your bike at the ready – pedal power returns to the streets this weekend.
Cheltenham Festival of Cycling returns to Pitville Park on Sunday with a range of fun, familyfriendly activities celebrating everything cycling.
It runs from 10am-5pm with a number of free activities.
All ages and abilities are welcome and activities include obstacle courses, bike demos and much much more.
Project sponsor Tracey Crews said: “We’ve worked hard with many cycling clubs across Cheltenham to deliver a fun event.
“We’re also proud to partner with Cheltenham Partnerships No Child Left Behind Year of Action who will have some fun arts and crafts activities available.
“We hope that there will be something for everyone and that we’ll see many take part on the day.”
Cheltenham District Scouts Fete and Funday takes place on Saturday, May 18 at Montpellier Gardens from 11am-4pm.
A GRANITE stone will be unveiled at the Memorial Ground, Tuffley Avenue, Gloucester – home of Old Cryptians and Widden Old Boys rugby clubs – at noon on Saturday.
It will be followed at 1pm by a match between The Cherrypickers and a North Glos Combination side with Widden and Old Cryptians playing at 3pm.
The first City of Gloucester 10k hits the city streets for the first time on Sunday from 9am, starting at finishing at Gloucester Park.
The annual Save the Countryside Walk takes place on Sunday, starting at 2pm from Stantons Drive, Swindon Village.
