AFORMER winner of The Apprentice will be sharing his secrets to success at a free business event in Bristol next month.

Mark Wright, who won the 10th series of the hit BBC television show, will be speaking at the Business Showcase South West on June 19.

He first came to the UK from Australia in 2012 with a passion for business and a love of digital marketing, winning The Apprentice in 2013 before launching his digital marketing agency Climb Online.

Mark remains hired as Lord Sugar’s business partner and has been expanding into new cities and enjoying growth in the last six years.

He says Bristol has become a “second home” for his business.

He said: “Much of that success is down to The Business Showcase South West. Being the keynote speaker three years in a row has been incredible.

“This has seen us collaborate and engage with hundreds of local brands, and our Bristol office has boomed and become a hub for the agency.

“Lord Sugar and I believed the South West was an area ready to boom in 2016 with many local businesses on the verge of becoming household names. Our guess was correct.”

He continued: “The success of this branch has driven our decision to purchase five companies into our Climb Group network to expand our brand further and also launch our own business event in London called CLIMBCON.”

Mark is speaking between 11.15am and noon at the Production People Theatre at the Ashton Gate event.

Showcase founder Jamie Breese said: “Mark’s presentation is so fact packed and engaging it is always standing room only.

“It is a no-brainer to invite him to return to the South West.

“I would also invite businesses of all

shapes and sizes to attend this special keynote as digital is moving at such a fast pace, we really need to hear what’s happening.”

South West-based PR expert Melanie Beeby-clark is also speaking at the Showcase.

As well as being involved in Bristol’s Social Media Week, she is a director of PR agency Ambious and has 20 years’ experience in the sector in the UK and US.

She will be offering her top five tips at 1pm on how to use PR to raise the profile of your business and achieve commercial success.

She said: “I am really excited to be speaking, it’s the must-attend event of the South West business calendar so it’s a real honour to be a part of it.

“I am looking forward to meeting and connecting with lots of interesting people.”

The Showcase event is sponsored by Reed, Jelf, HSBC and De Vere Tortworth Court, and will have more than 260 exhibition stands operated by businesses from across the South West

The event is also supported by Reach plc, the publishers of the Citizen, Gloucestershire Echo and Gloucestershire Live.

Adam Buckland of REED said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Business Showcase South West.

“Having attended the previous two shows, one as a delegate and the second as an exhibitor in 2018, we fully support the Showcase and all of the hard work Jamie and his team put in.

“It is a fantastic event that truly brings businesses in the South West together.”

REED will be represented at the event by specialist consultants who recruit in the following market sectors – marketing and creative, sales, HR, engineering, business support, technology and cyber security, accountancy and finance.

“If you are looking for assistance recruiting, seeking a new role or need some career advice, we will be on hand and welcome your questions,” added Adam.

The Showcase at Ashton Gate Stadium is taking place from 10am-4pm, and with free entry and parking.
