ABARTENDER has claimed a supernatural being has been causing mischief in her county pub.

The Plough Inn, Prestbury, is known for as being one of the most haunted taverns in the country - featuring a whole host of spooky folklore.

And now it seems as if a phantom menace had been smashing glasses in the dead of night all over the pub floor.

Bartender Khloe Fry, 24, arrived for work at 10am on Monday, May 20, to find all the glasses and bottles smashed.

Khloe said: “I thought it was an earthquake.”

Manager Natalie Richards, 25, said she closed the bar as usual at nine on the dot, when, she claims, everything was normal.

Khloe says that “It looks like they have been pulled from the back, forward.

“Which is really odd.” The village of Prestbury, near Cheltenham, is known as one of the most haunted places in the UK - with more hauntings per square foot that any other place in the country with legendary ghosts such as The Black Abbot and an apparition called the Cheltenham

Being one of the most infamous spots in the village, over the years the pub has has its fair share of paranormal activity.

This includes apparitions appearing in the pub to items flying off table, but in recent years the activities have died down.

Natalie says that being the most haunted village in the country there are many similar stories from the pub’s past.

Khloe say that the current locals seem to think that the culprit poltergeist may be a previous drinker that frequented the pub.

Going by the name ‘Hammy,’ a plaque hangs in the garden near to where some of his ashes were scattered.

He has been seen on occasion in the pub and has been said to stack chairs and stools on top of each other.
