Dolcie runs in memory of her dad Race for Life target for six-year old

ASIX-YEAR-OLD girl from has been hailed a ‘star,’ as she raises money in memory of her late

father.

Dolcie-ann Collins will be taking part in the 5K Race for Life at Cheltenham Racecourse on Sunday June 30, and has organised a fundraisin­g event to help top-up her total as she prepares for the race.

Her mother Charlotte, 30, said: “Dolcie-ann is a sweet girl.

“She wants to help people with cancer and help people in the future.”

A cake and tea party is set to take place on Sunday, June 9, at St Nicolas Church, Swindon Lane between 1pm and 3pm.

Dolcie’s mother Charlotte, 30, said they were donating and making cakes to sell, along with tea and coffee.

Charlotte added there would be fancy dress characters, face painters and she was in talks with organising a bouncy castle.

She said: “It’s going a be a little fun day.”

Dolcie-ann has already raised more than £600 in aid of Cancer Research, smashing her £200 target.

The funds raised will to to Cancer Research in memory of her dad, Chad Collins, who tragically passed away at the age of 24 in 2013.

Some of the comments on DolcieAnn’s fundraisin­g include: “That’s an amzing idea Dolcie. Well done for doing this.”

Another person who donated said: “Your daddy would be so proud of you Dolce.”

A lot of people said they were “very proud” of Dolcie-ann, and wished her “good luck” for the 5K, of which many people are expected to take part.

There will be a 10K and 5K race at Cheltenham Racecourse on Sunday June 30, in aid of Cancer Research.

The race, which will start at 11am, will take participan­ts ‘around the perimeter of Cheltenham’s famous Racecourse and then extend into the nearby fields.’

The website adds: “The route goes along a combinatio­n of grass, woodchip and paths and has some gravel areas with short inclines in places.

“A picturesqu­e venue in the heart of the Cotswolds and a perfect place to take part in Race for Life’”

This Sunday, June 9, will see Gloucester’s Race for Life event take place at Gloucester Park.
