Business showcase Seminars to help you succeed

EXPERTS from across the region will be sharing business tips for free at the South West’s largest business exhibition.

The Business Showcase South West is taking place at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol on June 19 and will include workshops, seminars and talks from successful business figures.

The event includes a seminar zone sponsored by Reach Plc, the publisher of the Gloucester­shire Echo, Gloucester Citizen and Gloucester­shire Live.

Jo Haywood, who has worked for 15 years as a documentar­y producer, including eight years as head of intereacti­ve at BBC Bristol, is speaking at the event for the first time.

She works for Skylark Media and will be be discussing video advertisin­g for online and television.

She said: “My colleague Kayleigh Cooper from Sky Adsmart is delivering this free, fact-packed seminar and we can’t wait.”

Jason Dutton, managing director of 4Networkin­g – one of the UK’S largest and most popular business networking companies – is also delivering a seminar.

Showcase founder Jamie Breese said: “I have seen Jason speak at one of the meetings and it was, hands-down, one of the best presentati­ons I have seen.

“The seminar will be fun and informativ­e as ever.”

Sandeep Roy, a local business growth specialist and a visiting lecturer on innovation strategy at Oxford Brookes University, is also speaking.

He said: “The current pace of disruptive change led by tech innovation­s has left many SMES struggling to keep up.

“I am inviting attendees to join me to learn how innovative business models can help cope.”

Business coach Robin Waite, the founder of the 12-Week Fearless Business Accelerato­r, will be dis

cussing the easiest ways to grow a business at his seminar, while former Royal Marine Berkeley Harris, of Sandler Training Bristol, UK & Global, will explore how to use Linkedin to prospect effectivel­y.

Facebook expert Jamie Forrest is running a session entitled The slow and boring way I run profitable FB ads.’

He said: “I’m excited to get right down to the business of how to actually get Facebook ads working for small businesses.

“It’s a platform that confuses and frustrates so many people, but it doesn’t need to.”

Marketing expert Nigel Black of Reach Plc will also be running a seminar – Demystify the world of content marketing with media while Adrian Stalley of Ultimate Finance will be exploring how to build business resilience.

The ninth Business Showcase South West is a free-to-attend business exhibition for businesspe­ople in all sectors.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend and there will be more than 250 exhibition stands on display.

This June, organision­s including The National Trust, the new awardwinni­ng rental business Bunk and national firm Access Self Storage are all exhibiting for the first time.

Regional race track and venue Castle Coombe Circuit and Kärcher, a provider of cleaning technology, are also taking a stand.

The Showcase is sponsored by HSBC UK, Jelf, REED Specialist Recruitmen­t, De Vere Tortworth Court, Vodafone and St. James’s Place Academy.

The seminars are running from 10.30am-3.15pm in the Reach Solutions Seminar Zone in Dolman Hall.
