‘It’s a great time to join the Quays team’

GLOUCESTER Quays’ new centre manager who plans to take the waterside outlet to the next level, enhancing the customer experience and event programme and much more.

Owen Acland brings with him a more than 20 years’ experience in the retail industry having managed shopping centres in Gloucester­shire and Oxford.

He said he aims to hit the

ground running and is looking forward to continuing the good work carried out by the team, and progressin­g with noticeable, gradual improvemen­ts.

Mr Acland said: “It’s great to join the Gloucester Quays team at such an exciting time, with the 10th anniversar­y celebratio­ns and Tall Ships and Adventure Festival during my first week.

‘Having worked in Gloucester before but more recently in Oxford, it’s great to be back.

“Gloucester Quays is such a fantastic venue which continues to evolve, and I am really thrilled to be joining the team on the journey as we take the centre forward with exciting new opportunit­ies.”

Mr Acland was born in Gloucester­shire and still lives in the area with his wife and grown-up sons.

He has won awards in his previous roles for centre manager of the year and an outstandin­g achievemen­t award for his work after helping to secure planning for a £60m developmen­t in Oxford Templars Square.

He added: “I’m looking forward to being a part of the exciting summer programme at Gloucester Quays that will truly make the centre a stand out visitor destinatio­n.”
