The national match-funding scheme seeks to support groups and charities working to improve the quality of life or environment across the region. The football club welcomes more than 500 children aged between four and 18 across 24 youth teams. Coach Mark Beaney said: “We are a local club run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers. The football club is so important for engaging young people in sporting activities and we encourage players from all backgrounds to join us. “The club is raising funds to support our move to better premises, we hope to be able to lease four pitches which will allow us to develop our girls and ladies’ teams as well as disabled and futsal teams. “We can’t thank Persimmon Homes enough for its generous donation.” Carly Spear, head of sales for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: “We are proud to support sports club, charities and community groups in the areas in which we build through our Community Champions scheme. “It’s clear that Leckhampton Rovers provides great sporting opportunities for the local community. “If people were unsuccessful in their application, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again, and hopefully they will become our next recipient.” To find out more about how charities, causes and organisations can receive funding they can visit persimmonhomes. com/charity
