Hope some members will avoid Johnson

Gloucestershire Echo - - LETTERS & OPINION - John Ricketts Lynworth

✒ SOME time ago, a well-informed right wing writer said of Boris Johnson: “There’s a pattern to Boris’s life, and it isn’t the lust for office, or for applause, or for susceptible women ... It’s the casual dishonesty, the cruelty, the betrayal; and, beneath the betrayal, the emptiness of real ambition; the ambition to do anything useful with office once it is attained.”

Reading Matthew Paris’s column in The Times now and then I don’t think he has changed his opinion on the man who remains the Tory front-runner.

I send this in the hope that some of your readers are paid-up members of the party who haven’t yet to vote.
