Sealer, 20, jailed after 138 packages of drugs found in underpants

» A 20-YEAR-OLD dealer who ‘cuckooed’ a Cheltenham flat had 138 packages of Class A drugs stuffed in his underpants when police stripsearched him, a court heard.

Joshua Brough of Yarow Drivve, Kings Norton, Birmingham, was jailed for two years and three months at Gloucester Crown Court on July 4 after he admitted possessing crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply.

He committed the offences at Clarence Square, Cheltenham on June 6, this year.

Prosecuting barrister Janine Wood said: “Police went to the Cheltenham address and arrested the defendant. While with the police his mobile phone rang constantly.

“They seized two phones and took the defendant to the police station where he was strip-searched.

“He had 88 packages of crack cocaine with a street deal value of £880 and 50 packages of heroin with a street deal value of £500.”

The two phones referred to drug deals involving crack cocaine and heroin, the court was told.

Probation officer Neil Hewitt, who prepared an on-the-day pre-sentence report on Brough, said: “He had a £50 a day cocaine habit and got into £500 of debt.

“His dealers in Birmingham threatened him and his family and told him to come to Cheltenham and sell drugs for them to clear his debt.”

Defending barrister Nicholas Clough said: “It is the same sad old story. He is offered drugs on credit at first and then gets into debt with his dealer.

“They threaten to give him a beating unless he becomes an errand boy and cuckooes a flat and sells drugs for them.

“He is threatened with physical violence and was motivated by fear.”

His Honour Judge Ian Lawrie QC said: “He has entered the dangerous world of cross county-line drug dealing.”
