Gloucestershire Echo - - BIG SUMMER -

» THIS summer Gloucestershire Live, along with the Citizen and Echo, is striving to Keep Gloucestershire Glorious.

As part of our campaign we put a call out to reader to submit grot spots in the county which were most in need of a clean up for us to target.

Here is your chance to vote on where Gloucestershire Live and our teon Saturdays in August, we want to clean up Gloucestershire’s neglected and ignored public open spaces.

We will be armed with rubbish bags (and refreshments for volunteers), all we need to know is where do you want us to clean?

We are looking for five locations where we will host a Big Summer Clean, on August 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.

Senior editor for Gloucestershire Rachael Sugden said: “Our newsroom is inundated with letters, emails and messages via social media about grot-spots across the county.

“In August, when we all should be able to be outside, where we want to go, we want to make sure your favourite places are safe and pleasant.

“Local councils are doing all they can with the funds they have - this is not a criticism of the authorities.

“This is about getting communities to come together in their favourite public open spaces and make them a place they can be proud of.”
