WINCHCOMBE
» Come along to a fundraising curry night and auction at the Corner Cupboard on Friday, July 12 at 7.30pm, in aid of Winchcombe Day Care Centre.
Tickets cost £12 per person and are available from Winchcombe Day Care Centre on 01242 603207 or Marie Giles on 07775 717853.
If any local supporters or businesses would be prepared to donate a ‘lot’ for the auction that would be hugely appreciated.
» The next meeting of the Winchcombe WI will be on Tuesday, July 16 at 2.30pm in Winchcombe Methodist Church Hall.
The speaker will be Matt Johnson, whose talk is entitled ‘From PTSD to Publication : A life on the Thin Blue Line’.

There won’t be any WI meeting in August.
» Winchcombe Town Council met on Wednesday, July 3.
Items discussed were: a presentation on the public space protection order for dog fouling; submitting an Expression of Interest to Historic England for the High Street Heritage Action Zones Scheme; seeking approval of the Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government to apply for a loan from the Public Works Loan Board for 20 or 25 years of £500,000 for the creation of Winchcombe Park – it was decided to apply for a 25 year loan.
» Attention all dog owners – It is now an offence to allow dogs to foul a public area or open space and not to clear it up and to be walking a dog without a method of clearing up after the dog.
