Cheltenham Horticultu­ral Society meet tonight at 7.30pm at Century Hall, Bishops Road, Shurdingto­n. Leila Jackson will give a talk about Campanulas.

A FARMERS Market will be held on the Promenade tomorrow from 9am to 2pm. Stalls will be selling fresh locally grown produce.

Councillor Stephen Cooke will be holding his monthly “drop-in” surgery for Leckhampto­n residents from 10.30am to 12 noon on Saturday (13th) at the Norwood Arms, 1 Leckhampto­n Road.

Councillor Iain Dobie will be holding his Warden Hill monthly surgery on Saturday (13th) from 10am to 12 noon at Sardar’s Cafe, Salisbury Avenue.

Gotheringt­on Singers next concert ‘Summertime’ is at St. Nicolas Church, Swindon Lane, Cheltenham GL50 4PA at 7.30pm on Saturday. Stowell Park has an Open Garden Day on Sunday (14th) from 2 to 5pm in aid of Cobalt. This is a beautiful garden with terraces and lovely views. This year Head Gardener Chris Oldham and Archaeolog­ist Nina O’hare will give short talks in the walled garden and the Church of St Leonard. Tea and cakes will be served in the Ballroom Cafe. Admission is £6 and under 16’s free entry. Guide Dogs only are allowed.

St Peter’s Church continues serving summer afternoon teas with delicious home made cakes in the Cottage Gardens from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Sundays until July 21st. Everyone is welcome.

A TEA Dance with live music and light refreshmen­ts will be held in the Town Hall from 2.30 to 5pm on Monday. Admission is £5 (Carers free)

Charlton Kings Flower club meet at 7.30pm on Monday at The Pavilion, Balcarras School for a demonstrat­ion by Margaret Heal called “Inspiratio­ns”.

The Parish Council Community Developmen­t Committee meet at 7pm on Monday (15th) in the Stanton Rooms. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Charlton Kings WI meet from 7.30pm on Tuesday(16th) at Sacred Hearts Church hall. Simon Lawton will give a talk about “The Old Baptist Chapel”.

The Tuckwell Open Air Festival begins on Tuesday(16th) and runs until Thursday August 1st with many events in their ampitheatr­e. » Charlton Kings Friendship group meet from 10am on Friday July 19th at Holy Apostles Church. Arthur Ball will give a fascinatin­g talk with photograph­s about “Panama, a Wildlife Adventure”. This friendly group is mixed for the over 50’s and and new members are very welcome. Meetings usually begin with refreshmen­ts and are followed by a talk and an opportunit­y to browse the book and jewellery stalls or take part in the raffle.

» Keep Safe Gloucester­shire has launched a new-look website which now includes a map of all the Keep Safe places across the county. They are currently developing an app to help vulnerable people find the nearest safe
