Bak­ing, Mak­ing Shak­ing WI is a fun lov­ing group launched in 2015 which meets on the first Thurs­day of each month at Bishop’s Cleeve Foot­ball Club, Katye Lane, 8–10pm.

Come along as a vis­i­tor and en­joy the speaker, tea/cof­fee and cake for only £3, make friends and have a gig­gle.

On Septem­ber 5, The Sev­ern Free­wheel­ers will visit to talk about their night time role.

Gother­ing­ton Singers con­cert Sum­mer­time is on Saturday, July 13 at St Ni­co­las Church, Swin­don Lane, at 7.30pm.

St Michael’s Hol­i­day Club will host spe­cial ses­sions on the theme of Trea­sure Is­land in Wood­man­cote School, Sta­tion Road.

This scheme, which of­fers a range of play op­por­tu­ni­ties, will run from Au­gust 12-16, 8.30am-2.30pm, for one-sev­enyear-olds.

Break­fast and lunch will be in­cluded in the club.

Susie Mcguire has formed a so­cial group aimed at peo­ple aged 60+ in the area.

The Sir Frank Whit­tle Pairs Chal­lenge is be­ing played at Cirences­ter Golf Club on Tuesday, Oc­to­ber 1, this year, open to ladies and gen­tle­men as part of fund rais­ing to fur­nish a new Ex­hi­bi­tion Hall and Ed­u­ca­tion Cen­tre at the Jet Age Mu­seum, at Glouces­ter Air­port, the me­mo­rial to the im­por­tance and his­tory of avi­a­tion in Glouces­ter­shire.

It is en­tirely run by vol­un­teers with free ad­mis­sion and re­lies on do­na­tions.

It pro­vides fun and in­for­ma­tion for fam­i­lies and en­thu­si­asts alike.

This is an op­por­tu­nity for a day of en­joy­able, but not se­ri­ously com­pet­i­tive, golf for an ex­cel­lent cause in a beau­ti­ful lo­ca­tion. En­try £79 per pair.

There will be a ta­ble top sale at Den­ley Hall, Bishop’s Cleeve on the first Saturday of the month from 10-11am.

Re­fresh­ments are avail­able and cakes are for sale. There is also a raf­fle. Can­cer char­ity Cobalt is look­ing for vol­un­teers for fundrais­ing events.

Sunday, July 21 is the High­nam Rare Plant Fair when the cafe needs help with bak­ing cakes in ad­vance, and on the day serv­ing re­fresh­ments and help with car park, 9.30am-1pm or 1-5pm.

Au­gust 2-4, Vin­tage Ex­trav­a­ganza at South Cer­ney. Help is needed to run the tombola stall, sell­ing show pro­grammes or help­ing at the show en­trance.

On Au­gust 1 and 5, help is needed to set up and pack down the Cobalt stall. This is quite a phys­i­cal task.

Bishop’s Cleeve Methodist Church Wednesday Fel­low­ship wel­comes new mem­bers to all meet­ings in the Church Hall at 2pm.

Cleeve Car­ers and Friend­ship group reaches out to those in the com­mu­nity who may not be car­ers but are home alone or would like to meet with oth­ers for friend­ship.

Meet­ings at 2pm in St Michael’s Hall. This group is look­ing for an or­gan­iser to run monthly min­i­nus trips.

Au­gust 13 is a gar­den party for mem­bers only.

Gother­ing­ton, Wool­stone and Ox­en­ton WI meets at 7.30pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month in Gother­ing­ton Vil­lage Hall.

As well as a wide range of speak­ers, there is a weekly art group, monthly lunches, craft groups and work­shops, tai chi and so­cial events.

On July 24, the talk is en­ti­tled Fun with a G String, speaker Philip Collins.

Vis­i­tors and new mem­bers are al­ways wel­come.

St Michael’s Hall hosts North Cotswold Foodbank ses­sions ev­ery Friday, from 9.45-11.15am.

Do­na­tions to the food bank can be left at Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Coun­cil of­fice, Mon­days, Tues­days, Thurs­days and Fri­days 9am-3pm, Wed­nes­days 10am-3pm.

The In­de­pen­dence Trust rep­re­sen­ta­tive for the area is An­drew Wood, who is a men­tal health out­reach worker.
