THE dead­line for nom­i­na­tions for this year’s Glouces­ter­shire­live Busi­ness Awards is on Monday. The awards are a cel­e­bra­tion of the county’s com­mer­cial suc­cess sto­ries, from small start-ups to global brands.

If you would like to put your­self or a busi­ness for­ward for an award, there are 14 cat­e­gories to choose from:

» Busi­ness of the Year

This award will go to the prof­itable busi­ness that has in­creased po­ten­tial and had a pos­i­tive im­pact on Glouces­ter­shire’s econ­omy.

The judges will be in­ter­ested in in­no­va­tive prod­ucts, ser­vices and pro­cesses as well as ex­pan­sion into new mar­kets and dif­fer­ent ar­eas of busi­ness ac­tiv­ity.

» Small Busi­ness of the Year

A prof­itable busi­ness that has in­creased its po­ten­tial over the lat­est fi­nan­cial year.

» Fam­ily Busi­ness of the Year

Open to first gen­er­a­tion fam­ily-owned com­pa­nies, multi-gen­er­a­tional busi­nesses and pub­licly-owned firms in which found­ing fam­i­lies still hold a sig­nif­i­cant stake. Ap­pli­cants will be judged on how the busi­ness has in­creased its po­ten­tial.

» New Busi­ness of the Year

Given to a com­pany that has been launched or had a change of own­er­ship within the past three years.

» Young Busi­ness Per­son of the Year Open to young en­trepreneur­s build­ing their own busi­ness or em­ploy­ees that have had an out­stand­ing im­pact on the suc­cesses of a larger or­gan­i­sa­tion.

» Ru­ral Busi­ness of the Year Open to all agri­cul­tural and ru­ral in­dus­tries, in­clud­ing food pro­duc­tion, farm­ing and leisure.

» Busi­ness In­no­va­tion Award

This award will go to a busi­ness that has in­tro­duced a prod­uct, process, in­ven­tion, idea or de­sign that has made a sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion.

» Mar­ket­ing Cam­paign of the Year

An or­gan­i­sa­tion that has com­mu­ni­cated ef­fec­tively with its tar­get au­di­ence over the past year.

» Best Place to Work

This award will go to the com­pany that be­lieves its en­vi­ron­ment is the best place to work. The judges will be in­ter­ested in how the com­pany es­tab­lishes cred­i­bil­ity in terms of vi­sion, com­mu­ni­ca­tion and co-or­di­nat­ing ac­tiv­i­ties.

» Growth Busi­ness of the Year

An out­stand­ing busi­ness that can demon­strate an in­crease in sales, profit, mar­ket share or busi­ness ex­pan­sion over the past three years.

» Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity Award

This recog­nises the firm that has demon­strated re­spon­si­ble busi­ness prac­tices across the lo­cal com­mu­nity, en­vi­ron­ment, its peo­ple and sup­ply chain.

» Best Em­ployee

Cel­e­brate your most prized as­set – your staff – and the ef­fect they have had on your busi­ness, from in­creased sales and rev­enue to in­tro­duc­ing in­no­va­tive ideas.

» Ecom­merce Busi­ness of the Year Open to all busi­nesses whose pri­mary trade is on­line ei­ther through prod­ucts or ser­vices.

» Life­time Achieve­ment Award

A spe­cial award to the busi­ness­man or woman who has made a con­sid­er­able, last­ing con­tri­bu­tion to busi­ness in Glouces­ter­shire over at least 20 years.
