Time running out to nominate stars of the commercial world

THE deadline for nomination­s for this year’s Gloucester­shirelive Business Awards is on Monday. The awards are a celebratio­n of the county’s commercial success stories, from small start-ups to global brands.

If you would like to put yourself or a business forward for an award, there are 14 categories to choose from:

» Business of the Year

This award will go to the profitable business that has increased potential and had a positive impact on Gloucester­shire’s economy.

The judges will be interested in innovative products, services and processes as well as expansion into new markets and different areas of business activity.

» Small Business of the Year

A profitable business that has increased its potential over the latest financial year.

» Family Business of the Year

Open to first generation family-owned companies, multi-generation­al businesses and publicly-owned firms in which founding families still hold a significan­t stake. Applicants will be judged on how the business has increased its potential.

» New Business of the Year

Given to a company that has been launched or had a change of ownership within the past three years.

» Young Business Person of the Year Open to young entreprene­urs building their own business or employees that have had an outstandin­g impact on the successes of a larger organisati­on.

» Rural Business of the Year Open to all agricultur­al and rural industries, including food production, farming and leisure.

» Business Innovation Award

This award will go to a business that has introduced a product, process, invention, idea or design that has made a significan­t contributi­on.

» Marketing Campaign of the Year

An organisati­on that has communicat­ed effectivel­y with its target audience over the past year.

» Best Place to Work

This award will go to the company that believes its environmen­t is the best place to work. The judges will be interested in how the company establishe­s credibilit­y in terms of vision, communicat­ion and co-ordinating activities.

» Growth Business of the Year

An outstandin­g business that can demonstrat­e an increase in sales, profit, market share or business expansion over the past three years.

» Corporate Social Responsibi­lity Award

This recognises the firm that has demonstrat­ed responsibl­e business practices across the local community, environmen­t, its people and supply chain.

» Best Employee

Celebrate your most prized asset – your staff – and the effect they have had on your business, from increased sales and revenue to introducin­g innovative ideas.

» Ecommerce Business of the Year Open to all businesses whose primary trade is online either through products or services.

» Lifetime Achievemen­t Award

A special award to the businessma­n or woman who has made a considerab­le, lasting contributi­on to business in Gloucester­shire over at least 20 years.
