James puts the Seal on another win for Cam

CAM stretched their unbeaten run to eight outings thanks to a comfortabl­e 105-run defeat of Woodmancot­e Saints to remain clear of the pack in Division Two of the Greene King IPA Gloucester­shire County League.

Opener James Seal (79) top scored in Cam’s 285 all out before Alex Ballard (3-37) and George Dolling (3-55) struck with the ball to dismiss Saints for 180.

Westbury-on-severn moved up e to third courtesy of a 122-run thumping of Cinderford St John, Neil Wyman and Dan Hockaday hitting half centuries, while an unbroken partnershi­p of 138 between captain Raja Shahbaz (59) and Faisal Shah (68) could not save Ullenwood Bharat from a sixwicket reverse at Shurdingto­n for whom Tom Knight (66) and Chris White (50) put on an unbeaten 148.

Mirza Mahmud (5-18) paved the way for Hatherley & Reddings II to rock Aston Ingham by seven wickets, and Sam Groves’ 4-30 clinched a 102-run win for Chipping Campden over Oldlands.

Division One leaders Apperley overcame nearest rivals Thornbury II by 17 runs while Kingsholm lost ground with a seven-wicket defeat against Chipping Sodbury for whom Jake Reed compiled a patient 89.

Poulton breezed past Cheltenham II by 103 runs, Lydney defeated Gloucester AIW Sports by 122 runs and Benny Ellis took 4-35 and hit 52 in Charlton Kings’ two-wicket success at Redmarley.

Langford, the Division Three pacesetter­s, eased past Rockhampto­n II by seven wickets but Hawkesbury Upton slipped up by four wickets at home to Great Rissington.

Joe Selwood’s 74 was the highlight of Tetbury’s 41-run triumph at Chipping Sodbury II while Matt Tuck hit 80 in Frocester III’S four-wicket success at Frampton-on-severn and opener Tom Radcliffe was unbeaten on 80 as Woodpecker­s beat Cranham by seven wickets.

Newent stay second in Division Four despite a 35-run defeat at Fairford for whom Harvey New captured 4-29 from nine while leaders Bourton Vale II cruised past their Tewkesbury counterpar­ts by 137 runs.

Cheltenham Civil Service II went down by 12 runs against Birdlip & Brimpsfiel­d for whom captain George Smith (74) and opener Nitin Shetty (57) played key roles while there was also a burst of 4-34 by Trevor Holder.

James Field’s unbeaten 131 was in vain for Dymock as Dumbleton II chased down a revised target for a five-wicket win, Tom Clarkson top scoring on 84, and Stone were five-wicket winners at fellow strugglers Lydney II.

Shaun Page compiled 105 off 100 balls for Charlton Kings II who brushed past King’s Stanley by 144 runs in Division Five while captain Alex Fisher led from the front with 5-44 in Witcombe’s four-wicket victory at Gloucester II.

Sheepscomb­e’s Chris Williams was dismissed for 99 in a 190-run home victory over Minchinham­pton.

Jamie Lait claimed 5-43 but finished on the losing side as Chedworth slipped up by 40 runs at Division Six leaders Cricklade while skipper Rob Birch’s 101 for Apperley II could not prevent an eight-wicket reverse at Stroud II.

In Division Seven, Pars Ghadiali took 4-8 to put the skids under Charfield, setting up a nine-wicket win for leaders Whitminste­r.
