Edwards takes second at Reading for 786th sub-3.30 marathon
STEVE Edwards was second in marathon number 876, the Saturn Chamber of Runs in Reading in a time of 3:27:59 for second place, his 786th sub 3:30 finish.
Marianne Day and Kelly Read completed the Maverick Race Series Peak District Event. Day ran the middle distance finishing in 4:06 and Read the Ultra crossing the line in 7:20.
16 junior members attended Saturday’s Cheltenham Tri in the Park and Jasper Williams set the bar high by winning his age category, Tri Star Start.
In Tri Star 1 Phoebe Miller was 14th girl and Thomas Cassidy (4th), Jan Winkowski (10th), William Chalmers (15th), Ollie Tindal Robertson (21st), Harry Finley (22nd) & Bertie Walmsley (30th) represented the boys in the same age category.
Sean Hyland (4th), Noah Williams (7th) and Will Cartlidge (20th) were NCTRS Tri Star 2 boys and Lilly Anna Walmsley (8th) & Lily Pepper (13th) for the TS2 girls.
Three NCTR girls took part in the Tri Star 3 race, Lucy Hyland in her first triathlon coming third with Izzy Dennett (5th) & Sophie Finley (6th) finished the day for the juniors.
Two adults also competed in the sprint distance triathlon around Pittville Park. Terry Cassidy was fifth man home and Helen Holden in her second triathlon was 16th lady.
Laura Williams and Helen Parry raced at the Greystones Swan Lake 10k in Bourton on the Water with Williams finishing third lady in 50.26 and Parry 24th lady in 1.07.40.
Kate Krzywiec ran the Bourton One Mile Challenge and was fourth lady and first V40 and gold county medal in 5.44.
Daughters Chloe and Pippa ran 7.17 and 7.47, Chloe was first girl and Pippa third in the fun run.
Lisa Cartlidge and Pippa Brown went to Ironman UK in Bolton, a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike leg, finishing with a marathon.
Brown was first over the line at 14:46:49 and Cartlidge finished in 15:49:02.
Roger Day raced the Draycote Waters 10k and finished in 53:59
