Almosts excel over all distances
THERE was success for Almost Athletes in races from the short Bourton One Mile to the Race to the Stones ultra of 100km.
Hannah Brown was first in her age category in the Cheltenham Pittville Park Triathlon andthird lady overall.
Lesley Cottle was also first in her age category in the Brean Beach 10km in 53.45 while Ceri Schofield took part in the Trail Events Half Marathon in Crickhowell, and managed 17 miles after getting lost with a time of 3:30.
A team of 14 Almosts took on the Bourton One Mile Challenge, and first in was Martin Foster in 5.15, followed by Josh Hand in 5.23 and Peter Morris in 5.53. Deb Cartlidge was first Almost lady in 7.01
Christopher Benjamin finished the Bath Two Tunnels Half Marathon in 1:58 while Ingrid Harris was third in her age category in 5:38 and Joanna Wisniewska-barreto finished in 6:05 at the Snowdonia Trail Marathon,.
In Spain, Emma Yates took on the Ironman challenge in Vitoria-gastiez, and completed in 12:44.
Des Beer, Francis Bull, Ollie Clarkin, Nikki Durnell, Sarah Fennell, Claire Gallagher and Hayley Woolnough completed the Race to the Stones two day ultra of 100km.
At Cheltenham parkrun there were PBS for Duncan Mounsor in 21.04, Barry Irvine 24.49 and Felicity Read 30.10. Ben Stone was fourth at Witney in 20.10 and Rob Rennell had another PB at Severn Bridge Park with 32.27.
Helena Youde and Matt Polson ran at Mount Etna, Sicily where Polson came second in 20.49 and Matt Bevan was fifth at Roma Pineto in 23.51.
Other parkruns in which members of Almost Athletes took part included: Darlington South, Fire Service College, Gloucester North, Oxford, Pocket, Pollock Glasgow, Tetbury Goods Shed, Tewkesbury, Wimbledon Common and Woolacombe Dunes.
At the Cheltenham Harriers Midsummer Open Track 5km event, Shaun Carr and Matt Hickman achieved PBS with 18.51 and 18.57.
Allan Green completed the Dinton Pastures Marathon in 4:39 while Jayne Murphy finished in 1:06 and Dave Nelson 1:07 at the Thornbury 10k.
