Automation is a real threat to jobs

Gloucestershire Echo - - LETTERS & OPINION - Sebestian Wordsworth

✒ EVERY year, unskilled and semiskilled workers are threatened with unemployment because wof automation.

The replacement of people by robots and machines is simply not progress but regress.

Some 1.5 million jobs will be threatened by automation and that is only going to increase as more and more industries are automated.

There are some who say we have no need to worry about such job losses.

The truth is we do need to worry because if there are fewer jobs then public services will be shut down.

Every political party except the English Democrats support automation because it enriches their friends in the big business corporations.

We English Democrats will ban automation - yes, very simply we will enact laws to stop it dead in its tracks.
