FAMILIES REMINDED TO RENEW TAX CREDITS AS DEADLINE LOOMS

WORKING families are being reminded to renew their tax credits by July 31.

Customers can log on to gov. uk to check on the progress of their renewal and use the HMRC app on their smartphone. Failure to renew before the deadline will mean payments are stopped and customers may have to repay the money they have received since April 2019.

Angela Macdonald, director general for customer services at HMRC, says: “We know that customers lead busy lives, which is why our online services are available day and night.”

SAVE £5 WHEN YOU SPEND £500 ON TRAVEL MONEY WITH SAINSBURY’S

HOLIDAYMAK­ERS who buy Sainsbury’s Bank travel insurance by September 4 will receive £5 off when they spend at least £500 on travel money at Sainsbury’s Bank on or before September 18.

Foreign currency is available online or in any of the 260 plus in-store travel money bureaux with 50 currencies available.

Karen Hogg, head of insurance at Sainsbury’s Bank, said: “Whether you are travelling near or far it’s important to buy your travel insurance as early as possible ahead of your trip.”

ASPIRING first-time buyers have been given a boost as a new cash Lifetime Isa with a market-leading rate has been launched.

Money app Moneybox and Oaknorth Bank have joined forces to offer the Moneybox Cashlifeti­me Isa with a rate of 1.4%. It is available through the Moneybox app and can be opened with £1.
