As the countdown to the Gloucestershire Live Business Awards continues, looks at two of last year’s winners

HAWKINS & Brimble was founded to address the lack of choice for men’s grooming products with natural ingredients.

Founder, Stephen Shortt wanted to combat this and introduce something different to the market.

After being awarded New Business Of The Year at the 2018 Gloucestershire Live Business Awards, the company has named Waitrose, House Of Fraser and Sainsbury’s among its stockists.

Launched in 2016, the brand has grown to £1.5million in sales across 12 countries.

Mr Shortt said: “I was absolutely delighted that Hawkins & Brimble won New Business of The Year last year as it

really recognised all of the hard work myself and my team did since inception of the brand only two years before.

“We have been rewarded with the invaluable publicity that the award brings including PR and new business leads who read the article”.

In the year since Imperial Hearing Ltd took home the Small Business Of The Year Award, they have used it as motivation to take them even further and continue to excel in their industry.

Since its launch in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury in 2006, Imperial Hearing has built a dozen fully-integrated hearing centres with 10 additional clinics and outreach centres.

Their goal is to ensure patients do not feel as though they are in a sales environment but a clinical environment that strives to find the best option.

Director Sam Rossiter, said: “We were extremely delighted to have won the Small Business of the Year award.

“We are continuing to work hard to increase the hearing services available to our patients and maintain our reputation as industry leaders, and this award was a testament to the hard work from all of the team.

“Having started out in Imperial Square in Cheltenham 13 years ago, we’re proud of our heritage within Gloucestershire and our growth into new areas.”

He continued: “We now operate out of over 20 clinics in the Midlands, Wales, South West and South Coast and have opened new dedicated ear wax removal clinics in Kingsway, Gloucester and at Cirencester Community Hospital.

“It was great to attend the awards evening itself and see the showcase of amazing businesses we have here in Gloucestershire.

“Winning the award has spurred us on to enter more awards to further cement our reputation as best in class.

“We wish the very best of luck to all 2019 entrants.”
