Tough night as young side are beaten 7-0 by strong Taun­ton out­fit

A YOUNG Chel­tenham Town team were thrashed 7-0 in their pre-sea­son friendly at South­ern League Pre­mier Di­vi­sion Taun­ton Town on Fri­day night.

The Pea­cocks’ first goal ar­rived in the 11th minute through An­drew Neal.

It was 2-0 in the 35th minute, with Neal adding his sec­ond and it stayed that way at the break.

There were fur­ther strikes in the sec­ond half from Jamie Price, Jamie Short, Dan Sul­li­van, Noah Cop­pin and Neal, who com­pleted his hat-trick.

Char­lie Stan­ton hit the post for the Robins, who were made up of 15 to 17-year-olds, in the 82nd minute, while goal­keeper Fred­die Lap­worth pulled off sev­eral fine saves.
