Ten of the best Harriers set new marks in Milton Keynes races

DOM James and George Watson produced excellent performanc­es as 10 Cheltenham Harriers set 5000m personal bests in Milton Keynes.

Lining up in the C race, the duo were looking to beat their previous bests of 15:05 and 14:53 respective­ly.

James was happy with a 14:42.29 PB in third whilst Watson crossed the line in an impressive 14:49.11

Alex Lee and Richard de-camps lined up in the D race and Lee stopped the clock in a PB time of 15:08.05 as he took sixth.

Thirteenth placed de-camps’ time of 15:19.97 was four seconds outside his PB.

In the E race Richard Dare and Charlie Jones broke the 15:30 barrier for the first time, with Jones’ 15:27.10 earning him sixth before Dare followed two places later with 15:28.00.

There were four Cheltenham athletes in the F race.

Chris Booth grabbed a 17-second

PB of 15:51.47 in fifth with Dave Aubrey one place and a quarter of a second behind as he lowered his PB to 15:51.72.

Eliot Taylor finished 16th with a season’s best of 16:07.68 before James Bingham followed six places later as he set a track PB of 16:16.65

In the I race V45 runner Steve Linton was also amongst the PBS with 17:34.11 in eighth whilst Matt Lambourne clocked 18:02.93 for 17th place.

Clark Lawson chipped three seconds off his PB with 18:28.71 for ninth position whilst Rachel See produced her second fastest time over the distance with 19:03.95 for 18th.

Bristol and West AC also hosted a specialist 5000m with five Harriers lining up at Yate.

In the B race Marcus England kicked past Avon Valley’s Mike Towler with 600m remaining as he took a win and lowered his PB to 15:28.06 whilst Dan Thomas lowered his PB to 15:49.04 for eighth.

Chris Cleary ran 16:51.24 for sixth in the D race, V60 athlete Nick Holliday recorded 19:05.52 for 14th in the F race and LV60 runner Kathryn Moreon posted 22:51.18 for 12th in the H race.

At the club’s final Midsummer Open meeting Jamie Harper was in fine form in the 800m as he broke the two minute barrier for the first time with a 1:59.0 PB that earned him third place.

Gareth Edwards ran well in the 3000m as he finished sixth in the A race with a PB of 10:08.7 whilst Martin Ford’s 12:38.7 in the B race earned him third place in the UK rankings for the V75 age group.

Parkruns saw Beth Hawling (17:46) finish as first lady and sixth overall at the Southwark event which saw her mum Claire (22:21) finish as eighth lady as she posted her fastest time.

There were seconds for Henry James (17:44) and Georgia Palmer (21:37) in Cheltenham, Mark James (17:13) at Worcester Pitchcroft and for Marc Fallows (17:45) in Cirenceste­r.

Alice Stalberg (22:58) was fourth lady home at Gloucester North and Ellis Woolley (21:47) finished as fifth lady in Tetbury.
